ALABAMA WRESTLING CLUB

A Community Outreach Mission

Future Men

The Mission of Future Men exist in the knowledge that we will

encourage and promote personal growth spiritually, physically, and

emotionally through positive reinforcement of activities which

constantly challenge the spirit, body, and mind. The sport of wrestling

creates a unique platform for young athletes to experience the

personal challenges associated with one on one competition. They

encounter and grapple with those time tested traits that form the

character of a man. We are charged with teaching these principles as

the foundation of success in the arena of competition thereby

empowering our young wrestlers for the rest of their lives.

The Future Men Community Outreach Mission believes that individual

actions lead to exceptional results; results that have a lasting impact

on the youth of Alabama. We strive to provide opportunities to all

youth regardless of family dynamics or socioeconomic status. By

providing financial assistance, first-class facilities, mentorship, and top

notch coaching we can help to develop the seeds of greatness

bestowed in all young people by their Creator.

The Alabama Wrestling Club, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization,

invests in some of the most promising athletes in Alabama as well as

some of the most promising young men relative to their ability to be

productive citizens, students, professionals, husbands, and fathers.

Our investment is in Future Men.

Folkstyle Training - Scholastic

The Future Men Community Outreach Mission offers support to athletes

who are selected by the Committee. Selection relies on a number of

key determinants, including financial need, commitment, character,

sportsmanship, and when applicable academic performance. Two

programs have been established to provide training and other

resources that benefit the athletes in their competitive and educational

endeavors.

Youth and Development Outreach

This program focuses on providing full or partial scholarships for

athletes to receive training at the Alabama Wrestling Club. It also

provides financial assistance for the cost of travel, tournament fees,

and supplies for participation in State, Regional, and National

competition. Any athlete that would otherwise be unable to participate

due to financial hardship is considered for this program.

Daryl Cox Scholarship

This program focuses on providing an Annual Scholarship to a high

school senior(s) to help subsidize the cost of Higher Education. The

scholarship is presented in memory of Daryl Cox, who overcame

tremendous odds after a near fatal car accident as a teenager. Author

of Wrestling a Killer, Daryl’s life story embodied the work of a Christian

and mentor serving the youth of Alabama until he passed away in 2006.
