Nick Hall has committed to wrestle for Appalachian State, NCAA Div I. Nick has been an AWC wrestler since he the 2nd grade. He will be following another great AWC wrestler to App State, John Blakely, who will be graduating this year. Among his many accomplishments, Nick as been a 2x Alabama 6A State Champ with likely a 3rd title on the way. He has also been a Fargo All-American (4th) in Freestyle and took 5th at Super 32 this year.
John Blakely believes that Nick made the right choice, “Nick Hall is a very hard worker with lots of potential at the Division I level. Coach Bentley and the rest of the App State staff are a perfect fit for Nick. I think the atmosphere of App State fits Nick perfect and he will have a great career there. I’m excited to see what Coach Bentley has in store for him”
Nick has been laser focused this past year on using wrestling to help him get a great education and he couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity, “They have some red shirt freshmen that have beat nationally ranked guys. They signed the # 7 170 pounder. So I think the future for App State is bright. I love the coaches. It feels a lot like home.”
Of course AWC coach Rod Gaddy has always had a special place in his heart for Nick and could not be happier or prouder, “Nick’s a great kid, hard working, loves wrestling, and has always competed at a high level. He understands tactics and strategy better than most adult coaches, even in high school. John Blakely wrestled at App and improved so much, and had such a great experience, I have to believe Nick is going to do even greater things.”
Best of luck Nick. We will be following your career and rooting for you. Thank you for being an inspiration to the next generation of AWC wrestlers.
